Busta Rhymes may not have had the massive commercial success of some of his more crossover-friendly peers, but without question, his impact on Hip-Hop is substantial. With his signature, rapid-fire rap style and pioneering music videos, Rhymes brought profound innovations to Hip-Hop. The 1998 hit single “Gimme Some More” is a prime example of both Rhymes’ unmatched flow and his unforgettable imagery. Sampling the “Psycho” film theme, both the track and its accompanying video are hybrids of horror and Hip-Hop. With its disarmingly slick-tongued delivery and thrilling video, the song’s title perfectly describes the insatiating effect it has.
